Dear Quotarians:

For most of you, district conferences are over, and I trust you enjoyed the fellowship of friends, sharing your club’s accomplishments, and all of the other things that make a district conference so special.   I was fortunate that two of the conferences that QI assigned me to attend were in the West Area, District 9 and District 36, both of which were excellent.

Our next special time together will be at Convention in Vancouver, B.C. July 2-5, and I truly look forward to seeing you there.  Many have told me they are going, but if you have not registered yet, there still is time to do so. All of the information you need is on the website www.quota.org, or in your latest Quotarian Magazine.  This will be a Convention you don’t want to miss.  Our keynote speaker, Cynthia D’Amour of People Power Unlimited, will challenge us with a dynamic presentation designed to help us to grow professionally, in our personal lives, and as Quota leaders.  In addition, the 3-year strategy for Creating the Quota of Tomorrow will be a topic of discussion, which is very important for all Quotarians to hear.

Congratulations are in order again for the West Area!  Four of our Quotarians were nominated as Volunteers of the Year:  Asuncion C. Aguilar of QI of Las Pinas, Philippines, Mary Rose Fernandez of QI of Manila South, Philippines; Gena Grelis of QI of Tacoma, WA; and Nancy Trujillo of QI of Morro Bay, CA.  These dedicated Quotarians were recognized by their clubs for their outstanding Quota service and proven ability to share the spirit of Quota volunteerism with the community.  Please join me in congratulating them.

Congratulations are also in order for winners of the 2009 Shining Stars Membership Challenge, which recognizes net membership growth and membership recruitment successes during the calendar year from January 1 through December 31.  The winners are as follows:

Net Membership Growth Awards:

Sparkles (10% to 19% net growth)

QI of Anchorage; QI of Cebu; and QI of Tacoma

Silver Stars (30% or higher net growth)

QI of Denver and QI of Talisay

Membership Recruitment Awards:

Sparkles (5 to 9 new members recruited)

QI of Cebu; QI of Denver; QI of Estes Park; QI of Fairbanks; QI of Gridley: QI of Manila South; QI of Paranaque; QI of Talisay; and QI of Yuba-Sutter

Silver Stars (15 or more new members recruited)

QI of Las Pinas and QI of Pampanga

My heartfelt thanks to all of you Quotarians for your successful efforts to grow your clubs.  I’m proud of you!

Another good reason for you to attend Convention is to be present when Vicki Conable is installed as your new West Area Director.  Thanks, Vicki, for agreeing to serve in this position.

Lastly, QI has a power point program and script that is available on the website for your use in membership recruitment.  The presentation has 19 slides and information about local and global clubs, which you can use as presented or customize to fit your own needs.

I sincerely look forward to seeing you in Vancouver.

In Quota Love,

Pattie
